Who we are
A regional quality platform for surgical care, teaching and training.
We are surgeons deeply committed to excellence and optimal patient care in endoscopic surgery. Our members are board-certified surgeons and residents who have chosen to hold their practice to a standard the whole region can see.
Established in 2013, CaSES grew out of a simple recognition: surgeons across the Caribbean were solving the same problems in isolation. Today the Society spans general surgery, gastroenterology and gynaecology, with members in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent & The Grenadines and beyond.
We run the region’s annual scientific conference, hands-on wet labs and live surgery broadcasts, and we maintain the protocols and the operative video archive that members draw on between meetings.

Our flagship hands-on course. Surgeons and senior residents work through the core laparoscopic skill set on simulators and in the wet lab, under faculty who operate in the same resource setting they do.

Hands-On Pre-Conference Course
Wet lab and practical endoscopy
Held the day before the Annual Scientific Conference. A morning of didactic teaching followed by supervised wet-lab operating, closing with certification.

Observed operating with faculty commentary
Operations broadcast live into the auditorium with the operating surgeon talking through each decision, and the room able to ask questions as the case unfolds.
