Privacy Policy
What the Caribbean Society of Endoscopic Surgeons collects through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Who we are
The Caribbean Society of Endoscopic Surgeons (“CaSES”, “we”) is a professional society for endoscopic and minimally invasive surgeons in the Caribbean. Our secretariat is at The Dome Mall, Warrens, St Michael, Barbados.
This policy covers casesendo.com. It does not cover WavesPath, the membership platform we use, which publishes its own privacy notice and acts as the controller of your member record.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you and to run the Society:
- Enquiry details. When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, country and message.
- Membership applications. These are submitted to WavesPath, not to this website. Any credentials you upload — degree certificates, specialist certification, council registration, CV — are held in WavesPath.
- Event registrations. Handled by WavesPath, including any payment details, which we never see or store.
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics profiling.
Patient data and clinical material
Operative video and clinical material in the members’ library must be de-identified before it is submitted. Contributors are responsible for obtaining appropriate patient consent and for removing identifying features — faces, tattoos, on-screen names, dates of birth and hospital numbers — before upload.
Do not send patient-identifiable information through the contact form on this website. It is not an appropriate channel for clinical data.
How we use your information
- To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, follow it up.
- To administer membership, dues and event registration through WavesPath.
- To send Society news and conference notices, where you have asked to receive them.
- To meet our record-keeping and governance obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make the Society work:
- WavesPath — membership management, event registration and member records.
- Our email provider — delivery of contact-form messages and Society correspondence.
- Our hosting provider — serving this website.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our members.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Member records are kept for the duration of membership and for as long as the Society’s governance and financial obligations require. You may ask us to delete information we no longer need.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete data we no longer have a reason to keep.
- Stop sending you Society communications.
Write to secretary@casesendo.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Membership credentials and documents are transmitted directly to WavesPath over an encrypted connection and are not stored on this website. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information entrusted to us.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date shown alongside it. Material changes will be communicated to members directly.
